The appellate court is directed to supplement its consideration of the appeal with consideration of whether plain error review is applicable to

respondent’s claim that he was denied a fair trial by the admission of hearsay statements that were unduly cumulative. If plain error review is appropriate, the appellate court is directed to engage in such a review, to determine if a different result is warranted.
